Join an Experienced Local Authority Building Control Team
Southern Building Control Partnership is the Local Authority Building Control service for Mole Valley, Reigate & Banstead and Tandridge.
Established in 2017, the Partnership brings together the skills, experience and resources of three local authorities within one Building Control team. This collaborative approach enables us to provide a consistent and resilient service while drawing upon a broad range of knowledge and specialist expertise.
Our Building Control team includes Registered Building Inspectors alongside technical, administrative and business support colleagues.
Working within the Partnership means being part of a team with an important role to play in the areas we serve.
Making a Difference Through Building Control
Building Control is ultimately about people.
Every inspection, plan assessment and conversation contributes towards ensuring that buildings are safe, compliant and suitable for the people who will live, work and spend time in them.
Our work covers important areas including structural safety, fire safety, accessibility, ventilation, drainage, sanitation and energy efficiency.
You can learn more about what Building Control does and the role our team plays in supporting safe, compliant development across our three local authority areas.
For us, delivering a high-quality Building Control service means combining technical knowledge with practical advice, clear communication and a genuine understanding of the projects and communities we support.
Why Southern Building Control Partnership?
The Partnership model gives our Building Inspectors the opportunity to work as part of a wider, collaborative local authority team.
Rather than operating separately, Mole Valley, Reigate & Banstead and Tandridge combine their Building Control resources and expertise. Our inspectors work flexibly across the Partnership, helping us maintain consistent standards and draw upon the experience of colleagues when required.
You can find out more about how Southern Building Control Partnership works and the approach we take to delivering our service.
As a not-for-profit public service, our focus remains on safety, compliance and supporting our local communities.
For Building Control professionals who value the public-service aspect of the profession alongside high technical standards, this can make the work particularly rewarding.
We Are Interested in Hearing From Class 2 Registered Building Inspectors
As the Partnership continues to grow and develop its service, we are keen to build relationships with Class 2 Registered Building Inspectors who may be interested in current or future opportunities with us.
We understand that considering a career move is a big decision. Getting in touch does not need to mean that you are ready to make that move today.
You may simply want to understand more about:
- the Partnership and the areas we cover;
- the people you could be working alongside;
- our approach to Local Authority Building Control;
- how the service is developing; or
- potential opportunities that may become available.
We are very happy for that first conversation to be informal and confidential.
