Information for customers of PWC Building Control Services Ltd
16 August 2024
We have been advised that PWC Building Control Services Ltd has gone into liquidation. Read their statement here.
What this means for PWC clients.
PWC will cancel the Initial Notice that they have submitted to us on your behalf. We understand that PWC will be contacting you to confirm cancellation and explaining how you can apply to the liquidator for a return of fees.
If your project has started on site
If work has commenced it is important that you contact us.
Southern Building Control Partnership is the Local Authority Shared Service for Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead and Tandridge Councils and your application must now revert to us.
You will need to submit a Reversion application (referred to by PWC as a Regularisation). This will enable us as your Local Authority to work with you and your contractors to ensure that your building work complies. This will mean that we will visit your property to assess the works that have already taken place and review the remainder of the project.
A Reversion application does attract a cost and we recognise this will be in addition to the fees you have already paid to PWC, but we must ensure we cover the costs of our service. The cost for our Reversion Applications is the same as our Regularisation applications. You can find details on our current fee scheme here.
To obtain a Reversion Application form please contact us.
If your project has not started
If work has not started, you must now find an alternative Building Control Provider. An Initial Notice from an alternative private sector provider or an application to us must be in place before work starts on site.
Details of our service can be found here.
